At QA Captain, we’ve intentionally leaned into a nautical theme — not just for the puns and metaphors (though we love those), but because software testing is a voyage. And we’re based in Seattle, a maritime city where the water is both boundary and invitation.

Our name and steering wheel logo symbolizes:
- Navigation: To steer a ship, you need a charted course and the ability to adapt mid-journey. Software testing is no different. Plans evolve, deadlines shift, and clarity emerges through intentional direction. Confidence isn’t the absence of risk, it’s knowing how to respond when the waves hit.
- Leadership: A captain doesn’t just command, they guide. They align the crew, empower their skills, and maintain direction in dynamic conditions. QA leadership means building resilient systems and fostering trust, even when the goals are unclear.
- Direction & Adaptability: Without a wheel, you drift. With one, you respond. The wheel is our symbol of intentionality, of making decisions that reflect both vision and reality. In QA, adaptability isn’t reactive; it’s strategic.
- Anchor: Quality is our anchor. It grounds us in ethics, principles, and craft. It’s what keeps us steady when the storm hits. Anchors aren’t just for stopping, they’re for holding fast to what matters.
